The homeowners in Bethlehem, PA, contacted Jamison Basement Waterproofing after they moved some items around in their basement and discovered their front foundation wall covered in mold. The moisture had built up over time, creating an ideal environment for mold growth, and the homeowners were understandably concerned about the potential health risks and further damage to their home ……
Upon inspecting the situation, our project manager Tim found that water seepage was infiltrating through the foundation wall, creating high humidity and mold growth. Our goal was to remove the mold, address the source of water intrusion, and provide long-term protection against future issues.
Challenges Identified
• Mold Infestation: Mold had spread across the foundation wall, likely due to prolonged exposure to moisture and high humidity levels in the basement.
• Water Seepage: Water was seeping through cracks in the foundation wall, leading to moisture buildup and creating ideal conditions for mold growth.
• Health and Structural Concerns: The presence of mold posed a potential health hazard for the homeowners, while continued moisture infiltration could weaken the foundation over time.
Solution: Mold Remediation and Comprehensive Waterproofing
We worked closely with the homeowners to create a plan that would not only remove the existing mold but also address the underlying moisture issue to prevent future mold growth. Here’s the approach we took:
1. Mold Remediation:
We started by carefully removing all visible mold from the foundation wall using specialized cleaning products. Our team wore protective gear to ensure safety during the remediation process. After the removal, we applied a mold inhibitor to prevent future mold growth.
2. Foundation Crack Repair:
To address the root cause of the water seepage, we inspected the foundation wall for any cracks. We then sealed these cracks with a high-quality foundation repair sealant designed to prevent water infiltration and protect the structural integrity of the wall.
Homeowners couldn’t be more happy with the work we completed …
