Location: Bensalem, PA
The homeowners in Bensalem reached out to us after noticing mold growth on the trim molding in their basement.
After a thorough inspection, our team determined that the issue was likely due to external water infiltration combined with inadequate interior drainage, threatening the integrity of the basement and the finishes within it.
Challenges Identified
• Water Intrusion: Water was seeping through the walls, particularly where the floor meets the foundation, likely due to poor exterior drainage and cracks in the foundation.
• Finished Basement Damage: The basement was finished with drywall, carpeting, and trim, which were being compromised by the moisture, creating a risk of mold, mildew, and wood rot.
• Mold Growth: The damp conditions had led to visible mold spots on the trim and along the edges of the floor, affecting both the aesthetic and air quality of the space.
Solution: Comprehensive Waterproofing and Drainage System
We worked closely with the homeowners to develop a targeted plan that would address both the water intrusion and the damage to their finished basement. The solution involved a multi-step approach:
1. Interior Drainage System Installation:
• We installed a sub-floor drainage system #GrateDrain around the perimeter of the basement. This included a French drain system to capture water before it could reach the walls and floor.
• The water is directed into a sump pit where it is pumped away from the foundation, keeping the basement dry and preventing further water damage.
After the project was completed the homeowners were able to refinish their basement with peace of mind knowing it would be free of groundwater seepage thanks to Jamison ..
